A Bird Takes Flight

I find metempsychosis fasinating, but troublesome. Ovid believed that everything changes and nothing dies. Metempsychosis the transmigration of souls. When a soul is relieved of one body it goes into another one, but where does the soul go if there is no body for it to transmigrate into. Does it meditate in between worlds. Would that soul travel to heaven and stay there until a bell rings or until they see something beatiful and their wings emerge for them to take flight.

A las the wingless bird takes flight becoming into us and finding a place among the chaos
no harm befalls the unseen just a whisper of air through the trees
a face is seen, frozen in time, but cannot be fully remembered
except by those who breathe their last goodbye
